Trees In Winter

Trees In Winter

Today’s blog features Yu-Yin from @yincreativestudio. Yu-Yin’s artwork is inspired by nature and makes amazing use of light. Here she shares her series entitled “Trees in Winter”. I think my favorite one from this series is the little sapling in the midst of falling snow. Which one is your favorite?

“When the winter arrives, trees are the first sign that we notice, except the temperature drops. Most trees might change their appearances, including colors change or leaves loss.

However, in Washington state where I reside, I still can see the large fir and pine trees in the winter; that’s why Washington State is popularly known as “The Evergreen State.”

In this painting series of “Trees in The Winter,” I have created a variety of scenes based on the different areas and times. These trees all have their beauty no matter with or without leaves. Also, these trees have revealed different atmosphere while in the snow.

In this series, I used the Art Philosophy Watercolor Confections, including Essence, Woodlands, and Vintage Pastel. Also, I really like Artist Grade Watercolor Tube- Indigo, which provides highly concentrated pigment!

These colors are so beautiful that have helped me achieve the aesthetic effects.

The light is the most essential element in my paintings so you will see how I applied it for a different atmosphere in this series. I truly hope that you like them!”
