Introducing Brand Ambassador Lopa. Lopa is a brilliant watercolor artist and instructor. Her artwork is predominantly focused on landscapes and nature and ranges from loose oil pastel drawing to watercolor paintings of phenomenal realistic scenes one could just imagine stepping into.
“Hello, I am Lopa, a linguist by day and an artist by night. I grew up in the suburbs of India and maybe therefore I am always inspired by nature.
I started my watercolor journey two years ago. Since then, I painted every day till now and cannot think about a life without painting. I have been working with watercolors, gouache, oil pastels, and acrylics on and off but watercolor is my first love I will always carry in my heart. I love to work with watercolors because it has a mind of it’s own. The colors blending with water and creating its own magic is a sight to behold.
Using good quality watercolors and papers are the keys to success to become a good watercolor artist. I always suggest my students and beginners use quality paints and papers and swatch them before painting to understand the color combinations better.
Using good quality watercolors and papers are the keys to success to become a good watercolor artist. I always suggest my students and beginners use quality paints and papers and swatch them before painting to understand the color combinations better. Making swatch cards, color wheels, and noting down the basics of color study is very crucial while learning how to paint. The most crucial part of watercolor is to try not to overwork and let the water do its job. Watercolor is a wonderful medium to work with.
I adore the Art Philosophy range of oil pastels. Working with the creamy and pigmented oil pastels are like a blessing. I love how the colors can be blended without using a tortillon.”
“When I used my first Art Philosophy watercolor confection, I was mesmerized by its quality. My first confections were ‘Tropicals’ and ‘Classics’. these two are my all-time favorite. I also love to work with other confections like ‘Currents’, ‘Decadent Pies’, ‘Woodlands’, and ‘Terrain’.”
I discovered that my life is better when I paint my heart out and I know I am never going to stop soon. I love to paint beautiful atmospheric landscapes and realistic botanical illustrations that are inspired by nature. When I do not paint I find myself reading a book or just swaching my colors or testing my brushes for the next use.
The world is always a better place with my paint supplies.
Happy painting, have fun.
