How to paint a firework

Fireworks are so fun to paint! They are bright and colorful with endless possibilities for color combination and size. The materials we will need are: 

  • Masking liquid 
  • Concentrated Watercolors (you can use other types of watercolors) 
  • Metallic watercolors 
  • Watercolor paper, brush 

Step 1 

With the masking liquid draw the fireworks. 

Step 2 

Using the wet-on-wet technique (moisten the paper with water first) paint the sky with your watercolors. 

Step 3 

Before the sky is completely dry, coat it with black watercolor to add depth to your drawing. 

Step 4 

When the background is completely dry, remove the masking liquid and paint the fireworks with the colors that you like the most. 

Step 5 

To finish, with metallic watercolors paint the sparkles of the fireworks. This is optional, but they are prettier. 

You already have your fireworks!
